The Brief

A multi-level school in Melbourne’s east has registered with the “Solar Schools” initiative, which offers monitoring and funding support for solar energy projects. The school’s live solar production data is used as an educational tool to teach students about renewable energy practices and the advantages of solar power.

The Solution

The school was able to replace 1/3 of their total energy requirements by installing a 222x EGing panels on the main roof. The Solar Edge Micro-Optimiser Inverter Technology played a crucial role in enhancing safety. By isolating the DC portion of solar power without requiring access to the roof, the school mitigated potential safety hazards, ensuring a secure environment for students and staff.

The 28.99MWh annual solar generation resulted in a substantial environmental impact, with 29.14 tonnes of carbon dioxide savings, aligning with the school’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.
